As a fellow writer, I know it's a difficult decision to hand over your hard work, your baby, to an editor. I can assure you I will treat it as respectfully and lovingly as I would my own work. While we work together, I will provide reliable, consistent communication; thorough, actionable feedback on your manuscript; and a fun, engaging personality for you to work with! Between us, we will get everything done within an established timeline, and you will leave with a happy heart and a detailed plan for your next steps.
Developmental Editing
With developmental editing, I will look at your manuscript with an eye for plot, character development, pacing, dialogue, and so much more.
Deliverables: I will provide you with a thoroughly commented manuscript from which you can move forward with your revisions. I will also provide a developmental editing letter to better explain the comments present on the manuscript. If you do not already have one, I will create a style sheet for you, as well. I will be available for any questions you may have.
Line Editing
With line editing, I will look at your manuscript with an eye for clarity, concision, flow, diction, and more on the paragraph level.
Deliverables: I will provide a thoroughly edited manuscript that keeps your voice intact and uses suggestions only, so that you can choose what to accept and what to not accept as an edit. I will also provide you with a line editing letter detailing and explaining my edits. If you don't already have one, I will also create a style sheet for you. I will, of course, be available for any questions afterward.
Proofreading
With proofreading, I will look at your manuscript with an eye for grammatical, continuity, and formatting errors; and more.
Deliverables: I will provide you with a thoroughly edited manuscript, though the edits will be small compared to line editing, for example. I will again only use suggestions, so that you are free to pick and choose what you deem appropriate. I will be available for any questions you may have after the process is finished.
